Sommerville Sports MAA Wild Strong on the Road
After a 2-1 loss to Durham West Lightning at home on November 8, the MAA Wild rallied for a strong weekend on the road. The MAA Wild record now stands at 5-5-2 earning 3 points this weekend.

Friday night action saw the Wild take on the Belleville Bearcats at the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre.  Winning 2-0, the MAA Wild put in a solid team effort, shutting out the Bearcats. Aleah Balas scored unassisted in the first period.  In the third frame, Megan Arnott capatilized on the empty net when the Bearcats pulled their goalie.  A strong physical effort by the Wild contained the Bearcats to just two shots in the third period.  Megan Samis was solid between the pipes facing 19 shots and earning the shutout!

Saturday night action at the South Courtice arena, the MAA Wild (5-5-1) faced the first place Clarington Flames (10-0-1).  An early goal (unassisted) by Sara Wood gave the Wild a 1-0 lead and the thirst for more. It was a back and forth game with the Flames tying it up near the end of the first period.  The Wild persisted and captain, Aly Morris scored in the second period, assisted by linemate Cailin Turney. Going into the third period with a 2-1 lead, the Wild played a strong defensive game. The Wild maintained the lead until 1:25 left in the game when the Flames intense offensive effort tied it up at 2-2.  Brooke Susac came up with some big saves facing 36 shots! A formidable team effort, with the Flames coaching staff Tom St. James and Kevin MacDonald commending the MAA Wild on their solid game.
